Gaffer relishes the test of the bookies joint favourites
Havant and Waterlooville have made a credible start to their first season back in the Vanarama National League South. A 0-0 draw at Chippenham amid a pitch which disrupted the rhythm of the game followed by a 3-1 win at home on Tuesday Night against Eastbourne Borough at Fort Westleigh. But now Lee Bradbury will face a tougher challenge come Saturday as the bookies joint favourites Dartford visit having drawn each of their opening two.
Following Tuesday nights win against the Sports I asked Lee about the game and how it will be a tough test for both sides. Lee replied saying that “they have got some good experience in their squad, he's got a good squad and he's added to it this year with some good players and they'd be fancied to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season so it will be a tough game for us but it's on our own patch and we want to do as well as we can and if we play as well as we did Tuesday (V Eastbourne) then it will be one hell of a game.”
I also asked Lee about Alfie Rutherford after he was seen limping off the field on Tuesday night. He said “he's landed awkwardly on it as Simpemba brings him down, he's been taken out and it's too early (following Tuesdays game) but he was really hobbling on it and it'll probably be touch and go for Saturday”.
It's not to late to see the Darts visit Westleigh Park. Tickets are £13 for Adults, £9 for Concession entries and if you have proof of a Pompey Season ticket (card/Walsall ticket) you can enter for the price of £5. Kick off is 3PM and we hope to see as many Hawks fans as possible.
