Hawks kick off title defence at Westleigh Park tomorrow!

After succumbing to their first league defeat at Westleigh Park last Saturday against Bath City, the Hawks will be ready and rearing to go as they face promotion hopefuls Hampton and Richmond Borough as the Hawks hit the road once more. In this interview I speak to the Hawks gaffer ahead of the game and Wes Fogden’s new 1 year deal.

I started off by asking the Hawks gaffer about the game against Hampton:

“I will be a tough game. They’ve got some good young players. We knew it was going to be a tough start to the season with the teams that we were playing and a couple of teams we played were fancied to do well with them being one of them. It will be a tough game up there we will have to defend better (than the game V Bath last week) and we will have to have more energy and we will. We had a good week this week, we brush that aside. Look at it and see what we can do to improve and go forwards.”

After the news on Wes Fogden’s new contract I asked Lee about the new deal:

“Foggy’s signed an extension to his contract to keep him here for another year after this year. For me, he’s what I’m about as a manager. He’s hard-working, energetic he will always give you 100%,

he has quality and he is versatile, he can play anywhere. He loves the Football club as well, this is where it started for him after Brighton and being a local lad, he has the club in his heart and it’s a no-brainer for me.”

Hawks head to the Beveree stadium looking for all 3 points to get themselves back on track. Tickets priced at £12 for Adults, £7 for Concessions, £3 Under 16’s and under 5’s enter for FREE! The address is TW12 2BX and kick off is at 3PM. If you cannot make the trip Hawks Radio have live commentary of the game from 2:45. But in the famous words of MC Trevor Brock travel to Hampton and “get behind those Hawks”.
