Following the 1-0 away National League South win over Hungerford Town I caught up with Lee Bradbury for hawksTV to sum up yet another fabulous away victory.
“It was a very hard fought game, I just said to the players in there (dressing room) you have to come here and stand up, be counted as individuals and as a team and have to withstand the pressure they put on you. They are physical and work hard as a team, one of the hardest working teams we have come up against. And we matched that today with Jas (Prior) coming up with the goal. We’ve played well today, had some good opportunites, a couple I don’t know how they were saved and knocked over the bar from a yard but come away again, kept solid at the back, keeping a clean sheet and come away with the three points.”
“It was a very hard test of the Hawks’ character, we haven’t come up against a tougher test, they kept throwing it in the box from the throw, a big, strong side with 4 or 5 big lads that are 6’3 plus so they’re hard to play against but we dug in and stood to it and done their jobs and got the three points we deserved.”
Speaking about the away support, the manager mentioned that “we’ve come away from home and you’d thought we were at home today, we had a 150 people behind the goal or whoever’s there today, a great following, very noisy and hopefully they’ve gone home as happy as we are.”
