Hawks boss Lee Bradbury is looking forward to our annual Pre-season fixture with Portsmouth on Saturday as Westleigh Park gets ready for its first game of the new season.
"We're just getting the finishing touches done to the ground" the Hawks gaffer explained. "We're trying to do as much to the ground as we can, there's been a lot of improvements over the summer which the supporters will recognise and appreciate that."
"We're looking forward to hosting Portsmouth, it's always a great game for us and it also gives us a financial boost as well."
For the Hawks these types of occassions will not be a one off this season as the reality of life in The National League starts to loom large.
"It's going to be tough but it's something that we're looking forward to. We need to relish every challenge that comes week in, week out and when you look at that fixture list there are some tough games and a lot of miles to do as well but it's something we're excited about, we've worked hard to get here and we're gonna enjoy every minute of it."
A big crowd is hoped to be packed inside Westleigh Park with our game twinned with England's game with Sweden in The Westleigh afterwards and the gaffer cannot wait for the fans to visit Fort Westleigh.
"We hope you get down here and enjoy the game and then obviously kick off just after for the England game so I expect that bar will be packed after the game.
It should be a good day all round for everyone."
Hawks face local friends in Kenny Jackett's Portsmouth on Saturday, kick-off at the slightly earlier time of 12:30, we would love to have your attendance for this hugely popular fixture.
Tickets for the fixture will be £10 Adults and £5 Concessions.
