Enter the Hawks Nest as we head onto our maiden National League voyage!!
Lee Bradbury shares his thoughts on last nights 1-0 victory away at Leatherhead;
'It was a great result for us, I was probably more pleased with our shape last night than I was against Harlow, yes we scored some good goals on Saturday which is good for our confidence. But everything I asked the players to do at Leatherhead they did it to a tee they pressed and worked really hard which takes energy, commitment and desire to do that for 95 minutes, and good fitness levels, the lads showed all those things last night, hence we came away with a win. A really good disciplined win.'
I asked Lee to comment on Wes Fogden replacing Rory Williams early in the first half at left back;
'I've had the conversation with a couple of players about filling in if Rory or Struggs get injured, Lee Molyneaux is still suspended and he can play right or left back, so we needed cover. Both Bradley Tarbuck and Wes Fogden can play right back but neither of them have ever played left back. It's a testament to the player Foggy last night, I could ask him to play anywhere and he'll give you a 7 or 8 out of 10 every time, he's just fully committed and he adapted very well, I did give him a special mention in the dressing room after the match and the lads gave him a round of applause, for the way he played and took it in his stride.'
I suggested to Lee that the team must of thought they were playing at Westleigh Park last night due to the amount of HAWK'S Supporters;
'It was great and i mentioned it in my post match interview, I didn't realise we had that many there, the second half they were immense and they really lifted the team in the last 15 minutes or so when they really had to work hard. They really did make a massive difference.'
Finally, I asked lee to take through the next couple of matches;
'We are in a great position, with the amount of points we've picked up normally that we see us top, but Leiston have had a great start to the season as well, we could go into that Leiston game a week Saturday on top of the league if we win at home on Tuesday against Met Police, I don't think I really need to do a team talk for that one, that's the incentive for the players, if you can't get up for a game to send you to the top of the league, you're never going to get up for one. We are excited about the game, we want to go out and express ourselves and go into that massive game against Leiston on top of the league. For the next 2 games it would be great to have a big noisy crowd at Westleigh Park, 2 huge games for the club and I'd like to see as many supporters as possible. Finally Rory Williams had to come off last night with a tweaked quad, I'm not sure how bad it is we will take a look at training on Monday. I have given all the players a few days off to rest because I feel the last couple of games they've all had to work really hard and sometimes a rest is as good as a run, they can recharge their batteries and come raring to go again.
