Following a 3-1 win over the Under 23’s of Queens Park Rangers, the Hawks continue their assault on the Hampshire Senior Cup crown by facing Dave Carter’s Moneyfields at Dover Road on Tuesday Night. Winners of the competition famously in 2016, the Hawks will have a tricky test against the Southern League 1 pace setters if they are to progress a step further to the crown.

Speaking to manager Lee Bradbury after the win on Friday Night, Hawks Radio’s Les Hyson asked the gaffer what the expectations for the game on Tuesday night would be to which he replied. “I’m going to give the lads the weekend off, but we look forward to the game, we feel that we owe them a performance and a result after they beat us here at Westleigh Park in pre-season so hopefully it’s a chance to pay them back.”

With Money’s recent dip in form, the gaffer feels the timing of the fixture is an intriguing one when asked whether it was a good time to face them. “It is and it isn’t” he said. “They will be looking to get back on it straight away and after their loss (Against Bedford Town Saturday) they’ll be looking to get back straight away with a win and as local lads they will want to put in a good performance against us and we’ve got to be ready for that and go there with the right attitude like we did Friday where the work rate won us the game.”

The Hawks head to Moneyfields this Tuesday (5th December) with a 7:45 kick off with ticket prices to be confirmed as soon as we know. It would be good to see as many Hawks fans make the trip across the M275 as possible.
