Shaun Gale discusses Hungerford

With the start of the run-in approaching I spoke to Shaun Gale who's pre-match words against Hungerford were simple, "One game at a time."

"The games will come thick and fast now with games in hand but we will take it one game at a time, we did that last year and tick them of one at a time and that is what the message is to the lads every game as it comes and keep doing what we're doing until the end of the season."

I asked Shaun whether it would be easier considering the experience of last season which can be drawn upon. "We have got expereinced players and that I think we've learned our lessons over the years and you gain in confidence and you gain in knowledge when you get yourself in situations, it doesn't always mean that the outcome will be what you want it to be but we will be giving it the best shot we have and that starts with Hungerford tomorrow."

"We're not looking any further forward than that. It's the next game on the agenda and that's the game we need to go into and do our level best to get three points."

I also asked Shaun about what he learned from his players following the win at Poole Town which saw the Hawks dig deep late on to score two late goals to put the game past their opponents. "I knew a lot about the group but I don't think I learnt a great deal, I know we have a lot of great characters, I know they have the grit and the determination to achieve and it won't be for the want to trying. The important thing is we keep our feet on the ground and we just keep trying to win football matches. That's what we've done this season so far and we've got a great group of lads who are hungry to win Football matches and that's what you need. There is a great team spirit within the camp and hopefully we can just keep winning games and we will see where it takes us and it's all we can do."

Shaun Gale's message a determined one as the Hawks look to gain a valuable 3 points against Hungerford Town at Westleigh Park tomorrow. Tickets are priced at £13 Adults, £9 Concessions and £5 on production of a Portsmouth FC Season ticket.
