Shaun Gale departs the Hawks:

By Henry Deacon (@H_Deaconmedia)

Havant and Waterlooville Football Club can announce this afternoon that Shaun Gale has left Westleigh Park.

Gale joined the Hawks back in 2000 as a player and has spent most of the past 19 years involved with the club varying from Player, Manager, Assistant Manager and Community Manager.

He will be most fondly remembered for managing the side in our historic FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Liverpool at Anfield in 2008.

As assistant manager under Lee Bradbury he was a key part behind the scenes of the team which won back to back promotions into the National League in 2017 & 2018.

In the community, he has been a key part of the success of the Many Shades of Grey Walking Football Team which has become one of the biggest in the country.

To mark his hard work and dedication through both the high and tricky moments in the clubs history there will be a benefit year in his honour which will take place at a later date.

His status as a legend of Havant and Waterlooville Football Club is unquestionable and is always welcome back to Westleigh Park with open arms.

We wish Shaun and his family the very best for the future and thank him for 19 years of dedicated service.
