Havant & Waterlooville continue their FA Trophy campaign on Saturday as they return to the Draper Tools Community Stadium to welcome fellow National League South side Braintree Town.

The Hawks will be eager to push on from their previous win in the competition earlier this week as they claimed a well-deserved victory on the road against Bracknell Town.

Paul Doswell’s side managed to avoid a later comeback scare to secure their place in the second round with a 3-2 win.

Goals from Joe Iaciofano, Josh Taylor and Tommy Wright was enough to push the unbeaten run in all competitions to four games.

The Hawks currently find themselves sitting inside the play-off positions in the National League South table despite having played the joint fewest games in the division however, Saturday is a chance for the squad to advance towards another piece of silverware.

Braintree Town currently occupy bottom spot in the division on goal difference having struggled to find form and only picking up seven points from their 10 games played.

However, they will have gained confidence and will look to build on their result in the last round of the competition against Billericay Town after a penalty shootout victory following a 1-1 draw after full time.

The Hawks have yet to face The Irons this season but will still have to recreate their strong form displayed so far in the league if they want to progress further in the tournament.

Unfortunately due to updated COVID-19 guidance this game will take place behind closed doors with a live stream being made available.
