Wednesday night football is returning to Westleigh Park on August 14th as The Hawks host Dorking Wanderers for the fourth matchday of the National League South season.

The Hawks will hope they can extend their unbeaten run at the start of the season as they continue their quest for a promotion place come the end of the season.

Paul Doswell’s team has recorded two draws already this campaign and they will hope to take home all three points from what will be a very tough test for The Hawks on Wednesday evening.

The Hawks will be looking to improve on their draw away at Dartford on Saturday 10th, a second half equaliser from Kenyan international Jonah Ayunga meant that the two sides couldn’t be separated after the 90 minutes of play.

The Wanderers will not be an easy team to get the better of as they have enjoyed a faultless start to their campaign, taking a maximum nine points out of their three opening games.

Marc White’s team are currently sitting pretty in second spot level on points with Dulwich Hamlet and Concord Rangers at the top of the division.

The Wanderers are riding high having claimed the title in the Isthmian League Premier Division last season. Their fans from Meadowbank may also already be thinking about another season where they top the league.

The Hawks will be more than up for the challenge for the midweek clash as their never say die attitude, which was on full display in a 4-3 win over Hampton & Richmond borough earlier in the season will mean they won’t go down without a fight.

The visitors defence will have to keep an eye out for our man to watch for this game Jonah Ayunga. The number 10 who signed a permanent deal with the club this summer after a short spell on loan last campaign looks to have his shooting boots on as he has hit the back of the net three times in his last two outings.

Doswell wants to ensure the fans that the season is a “marathon not a sprint” as the hunt for a promotion to the National League is ongoing.

Make sure you get behind The Hawks on Wednesday as football under the lights returns to Westleigh Park in what will be a battle of the titans between two sides looking to top the table in nine month’s time.
