Havant & Waterlooville Football Club can confirm Benny Read and Charlie Searle have departed the Hawks.

Both players have been offered full-time employment respectively and will still be playing for AFC Totton where the pair have been on loan.

Benny Read joined the Hawks in May 2019 as part of a new young player lead directive which new manager Paul Doswell wanted to achieve.

Being a local lad, Read knew exactly what the shirt of Havant and Waterlooville entails.

He signed for the club from Wessex League Premier side Horndean, who were proud of what Benny achieved before making the move to Westleigh Park.

After coming through the Hawks’ ranks, Searle rejoined the club last summer following a successful spell with Wessex Premier side Baffins Milton Rovers.

He learned a lot from goalkeeper coach John Keeley, who has now rejoined the Hawks, and took on that role after John left.

Both players were loved at the Hawks and we would like to thank both players for all they have done for the club and we wish them all the best in the future.
