Havant & Waterlooville welcome FA Cup action back to Westleigh Park on Saturday as they face Hadley, who are the second lowest ranked side left in this year’s competition.

The Hawks remain in 3rd position in the National League South, however the squad will be brimming with confidence going into the third qualifying round of the cup.

Paul Doswell’s side put on an incredible show against league leaders Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale as they stormed away with all three points in a 4-1 victory. This win cuts the gap between the two sides to only seven points.

Saturday afternoon will no doubt be a great chance for The Hawks to progress to the 4th qualifying round of the competition, the final round of qualifying for the prestigious competition.

The Bricks have enjoyed a strong start to their league campaign in in Essex Senior League Premier Division with a total of 14 points from seven games.

Anthony Clark will have his side fully motivated for a huge cup tie, but the players will already be looking to cause an upset and will fancy their chances at Westleigh Park.

The Bricks are coming into the game after a 3-1 victory at home to Stansted, thanks to goals from Solomon Ofori, Paul Wright and Jordan Edwards.

The Hawks had some great news this week as the signing of central midfielder/defender Craig Robson was finalised. Doswell has said he has followed Robson for a while so when he heard of him being a free agent it was a great opportunity.

“I’m delighted to get this one over the line,” began the manager, “he’s a good player, a local player aswell which is really important, that’s about 10 local players that we’ve got now within a five-miles of the club.

Despite the hammer blow of Roarie Deacons injury Doswell remains optimistic that his side will still cause defences a lot of problems: “From my point of view it gives opportunities to the likes of Bradley Tarbuck and Chris Paul to come in and really make a mark on the season, as much as we are all disappointed with Roarie’s injury.”

Get down to Westleigh Park this weekend for what should be an exciting FA Cup clash between two sides looking to make a statement in this year’s competition.
