Havant and Waterlooville FC are delighted to announce James Roberts as their first new signing for the upcoming 2021/2022 National League South campaign.

James Roberts joins the Hawks in a move from Oxford City; during the 2020/2021 season Roberts played 15 games scoring a total of 11 goals making him one of the Leagues’ stand out players prior to the season being halted.

Roberts brings plenty of experience with him, he broke into the Oxford United team in Michael Appleton’s first season as manager, scoring five times and making 26 appearances during the 2014/15 season in League 2.

In an earlier interview today James Roberts said, “I’m delighted to be here, it’s a club with massive ambitions. I’m excited to get back out there on the pitch and for a club that’s full of ambition.”

First team Manager, Paul Doswell said, “I think that James is one of the best strikers in the National League South, he’s a real team player, and full of experience. Everything came together at the right time and at the right place for both parties. It’s a statement signing for us and there’ll be more of these to come.”
