Hawks in the Community’s Ross Betteridge took a team of boys and girls from primary school pupils of Front Lawn Academy today to Slough Town FC to compete in the National League Under 11’s Schools Cup.
A team put together by girls from years five and six which had never played with each other before, or played football in some cases, and a mix of across the years in the boys team competed hard, came close and got a win to show for their brave efforts.
The boys managed to beat Hampton and Richmond 2-1, before coming to defeats against Slough, and Maidenhead United.
The girls didn’t manage to pick up a win, but put up a good show against Hampton and Richmond, Aldershot, Slough and Maidenhead United.
Community manager Ross, was proud of both teams who worked tirelessly through a long and tiring day and for their superb attitude throughout the day, and considering some hadn’t played before was immensely proud.
A massive well done to all those who competed today!
