Hawks in the Community are delighted to announce the staging of the Draper Tools Summer 6-a-side Tournament. This marks the first tournament of its kind to be held at the Draper Tools Community Stadium and Havant and Waterlooville FC are excited to be able to support what will become a fantastic annual summer event.

The Stadium and grounds provide the perfect setting for local youth teams to experience and enjoy gameplay at the home of the Hawks in an elite sporting environment that will inspire young minds who already have a passion for football.

Facilities Manager, Gary Pratt said; “I’m delighted to announce that the club are going to be holding their first Summer 6-a-side Tournament in partnership with Draper Tools. The event will give an opportunity for over 100 grassroots youth teams to experience playing inside the stadium, and to have the chance to win season tickets to watch the Hawks next season!

The club have worked towards helping our local community sides in recent times, and this is another way of providing football in a safe environment. The football club are indebted to Draper Tools for their continued support as a Community Partner”.

This year’s Summer Tournament is kindly supported by HWFC’s Stadium Sponsor and Community Partner Draper Tools. Draper Tools Community Manager, Raissa Verpalen said; “We at Draper Tools are proudly championing the community spirit at HWFC and are very much looking forward to the tournament. It couldn’t be coming at a better time, community sport has been very much missed and it’s been a long year for everyone without it. We’d like to encourage as many teams as possible to sign up and have fun; there are so many benefits to taking part. Good luck to all!”

Over the last year, children in particular have missed the opportunity to participate in sporting activities along with the added benefits of wellbeing and positive mental health it provides. Hawks in the Community, the charitable arm of HWFC, shares the club’s ethos that sports participation should be fully inclusive and accessible for all to enjoy. The Summer Tournament provides a great opportunity that will support youth teams to re-engage with the activities they love.

Hawks in the Community are currently working towards delivering a number of new projects that will directly benefit and support the wider community in which they serve.
