Hawks midfielder Wes Fogden is pleased to extend his stay at Westleigh Park after signing an extension to his existing deal to keep him at the club until 2021.

Fogden also said that the move to daytime training has been beneficial to him and believes it is getting the best out of both him and his teammates.

It is also very likely that Fogden will break the appearance record by the end of his new extended deal.

Commenting on his new deal, he said: “I love this club and I want to play for it as long as possible. For the gaffer to give me next year as well it’s great.

And Fogden has one goal between now and the end of this deal.

“We want to get back into The National League and hopefully we can do that. But it’s not going to be easy it’s probably the toughest National League South that I have seen before.

“There’s going to be a lot of teams in the same position pushing along with us. We got to take each game as it comes and work as hard as we can.”

Fogden also believes he is seeing the effects of daytime training. Moving to this has been easier for the midfielder and feels a fresher player in doing so.

“I think it gives you the edge to be with the squad a few times a week and coming into trainings in the morning fresh rather than doing a days work and being tired in training.

“Everyone’s sharp, on it and enjoying themselves.”
