Hawks striker Joe Iaciofano is ‘feeling good’ ahead of what could be a busy 2021 for the Club.

Following his arrival last summer from fellow promotion hopefuls St Albans, Iaciofano started brilliantly, notching four goals in his opening two appearances.

However the hard-working frontman has found goals hard to come by since then, scoring just once. That goal coming last month, in a 3-2 win over Bracknell Town in Round two of the FA Trophy.

But Iaciofano remains confident in himself to rediscover the form he showed at the beginning of the campaign. Heading into a busy fixture period, he said: “Football is full of ups and downs. It’s not been my best month but I’m ready to get straight back to it.

“I’m ready to get back to it. I’m feeling fit, I’m feeling good, I’m loving training and I’m feeling good in games again which is perfect for me.”

Despite bringing in several players over the summer, Iaciofano believes the squad have done well to be in the position they are in: “It’s not easy to knit players together, you know the best teams have been together for a while.

“I think we are really starting to understand each other. People are getting to grips with my game and I’m understanding others’ games. It’s becoming evident that we’re starting to look like a tight-knit group.”

After finishing joint-top goal-scorer of the National League South last term, he’s undoubtedly a very good addition to the Hawks’ ranks. And the 22-year-old, who has never lived away from home, has revealed moving in with some of his team-mates has only helped him improve as a player: “It was strange at first, but we are getting to grips with it now and it’s becoming really enjoyable to be around the house.

“It’s enjoyable to be with people in the same boat as you. People you can just have a chat with and have banter with.”

Iaciofano has good competition with Tommy Wright netting league goals already. Whilst Danny Kedwell, who returned to the club in November, provides a more direct option up top.
