Hawks defender Joe Cook has signed a new one year contract with the club which will keep him at Westleigh Park until 2021.

Cook, who joined following a successful trial in the summer, has been on two loan spells at Bognor Regis Town this season, and impressed throughout his time at Nyewood Lane.

Having also stepped up to the plate for the Hawks this season, he will stay dual registered at Bognor until the end of this season before coming back into the fold for the 2020-21 season.

At just 20 years of age, he is one of a number of rising talents in the Hawks’ roster.

Speaking on that contract extension, Cook said: “I’m really excited. I know where I’m going to be now (next season) and that’s a good thing for any player.

“Since I went back to Bognor we’ve been unbeaten and got myself some minutes which is great.

“I can’t wait for next season, I’ve been in the gym and getting ready.”
