Havant & Waterlooville start their long awaited, highly anticipated 2020/2021 National League South campaign on Saturday as they welcome Maidstone United to the newly named and revamped Draper Tools Community Stadium.

It is certainly exciting times ahead for everyone involved with The Hawks from top to bottom, as they embark on a new journey with their eyes rigidly fixed on a prize that will be fought for across the South of England.

A road to promotion into the National League begins this weekend and gaffer Paul Doswell will want to get off to the perfect start as they kick-off the new league season on a revolutionised home ground for the Club.

The brand-new state-of-the-art pitch is ready for action, and it is a great time for the Club as they look to make history throughout the campaign.

It was a great return to competitive action for The Hawks last time out as they saw themselves progress into the next round of the FA Cup after battling past Horsham.

Although all is looking promising for Doswell’s men, they will have to be on their A game if they are to get anything from the first game of the league season.

In the last two previous meetings with Saturday’s opponents, both of which were in the league last season, The Hawks only managed to walk away with one point which was a 2-2 draw away from home. When United last played at the formerly known Westleigh Park they took all three points in a 2-1 victory.

The weekends visitors will come into the game seeking to turn their fortunes back around after crashing out of the FA Cup in their last match, in a tough away loss to Blackpool. Despite the unfortunate result The Stones will no doubt want to bounce back and better their finish in the division from last season where they finished in ninth spot.
