About Match

Havant and Waterlooville were held to a 0-0 draw away to Concord Rangers in The National League South.

Very few chances were made by either side in tough conditions on Canvey Island as the Hawks preserve their unbeaten record away from home this season.

The point keeps the Hawks 4th in the table.

Bedsente Gomis came in for his debut for the club as the only change from last week’s stalemate at Hardenhuish Park.

The first chance of the game didn’t come until 15 minutes in when Josh Taylor had a stab at goal which took a deflection as far as Alfie Rutherford who’s attempt at goal saw the same fate.

Five minutes later a Blanchfield free kick was played across the box and headed over the bar.

Midway through the opening period Rutherford crossed the ball into Magri but he could only flick it wide of the target.

And the Hawks came closest of any side in the opening period with five minutes of the half left to play when Danny Kedwell made a good run into the box before his shot hit the side netting.

HALF-TIME: Concord Rangers 0-0 Havant and Waterlooville

Paul Doswell made two changes at the break with Alfie Rutherford and Brad Tarbuck replaced by Andy Drury and Jonah Ayunga.

Four minutes after the restart Ross Worner was forced into action when Reynolds had a go on goal which forced him to tip over the bar.

Then shortly after a free kick found Elliot who’s header creeped wide of goal.

Just before the hour mark Simon Walton had a crack at goal from outside the area, his effort tipped over by Haigh in the Concord goal.

Five minutes later Drury played in Ayunga who despite slipping swung the ball goalbound but held by Haigh.

With just over 20 minutes left to play the Hawks created two chances in two minutes when first Ayunga had a punt at goal which went wide of the target before Read tried to play the ball into his path from across the box but his pass read by the Beachboys back line.

The last chance of the game fell to the hosts when Reynolds broke free into the area before his effort was tipped over by Worner, who needed to get something to the ball.
