Brian Stock tribute page
"He's been the most influential signing that I have made at this Football Club. A big loss to us, but I'm pleased to have had him over the past four/five years and he's been huge for me."
Lee Bradbury, manager
"Stocky it’s been a pleasure working with you since day one you have set high standards which the lads have looked up to and followed the model pro you will be missed by everyone at the Hawks thanks for all that you have done back to back promotions a hawk legend good luck in you new venture Skip will miss the banter Galey"
Shaun Gale, Assistant Manager
"What a player, what a guy and what a true leader Brian Stock has been for the club. He’s set the standard and demanded the best ever since he step foot in the changing room. Massive part of the success we have had over the past few years and will be sorely missed! #ThankYouSkip"
"Thought he was an complete idiot before I came to the club, based on playing against him.
First session of pre season in the Ryman year (my first session at the club) we were paired together and my opinion on the guy couldn’t have changed more over the last 3 years. Top guy, top player and we were always a better team when he played. Led by example and looked after every player like a brother.
Consider him a friend and wish him all the best for a successful career in the future. Cheers Skip."
“Stocky is a true leader and a true captain, I can’t thank him enough for what he has shown me. Also showing me a lot of respect and shown me how to respect other players”
"Absolute pleasure working alongside such a professional person both on and off the pitch, he'll be missed but I hope to see him around the club as much as possible."
Jake Travis, Physio
"Brian has been the upmost professional since he came to Westleigh Park, when you talk about model pros, Stocky is that!"
Richard Pope, Kitman
"Stocky is the person people look up to because everything in which he does, he does with the upmost professionalism. Away from being a great leader on the pitch, everything that is asked of him off the field, he will do and do it to the best of his ability.
He was a great help to me last season when I needed a co-commentator for the radio at a couple of away games when he was out injured, and was great fun to have in the box, has a great knowledge of the game, and came across as the genuine, humble guy he is.
Knowing how hard you work, and how you strive for the highest standards in all that you do, I'm fairly sure you will enjoy success at the start of a new chapter!"
Henry Deacon, Media Officer
"Thanks very much for being a great team mate and captain in the two years that I have been here - taught me a lot about the game and always set such high standards on and off the pitch. Wish you every success in the future with your coaching role and just know you will do very well! Been a pleasure skip x"
"He deserves all the praise and best wishes he has received which shows how highly people regard him as a player and person, including myself.
To be so successful within non league as well as the league is very unique and Bournemouth’s academy players are so lucky to have this experience to learn from.
I will miss the car journeys for sure and also Bri’s ability to somehow organise the team nights out in Bournemouth every time. Thanks for everything Bri and all the best"
"To skip... thanks for the memories you will be a massive loss to this team on & off the pitch. Since you arrived you have been class on the pitch & shown a lot more off it.. Not only a teammate but a great friend. Without a doubt the best player I have played behind at the hawks... all the very best to you & the family!! Brian stock do do do do do do"
"Wishing you all the best for the future skip, thank you for being such a top man on and off the pitch won’t find many better. Tarbs"
"Hands down the best player I have ever played football with. Since joining Havant I think so far I’ve played some of the best football in my career, and a lot of that is down to skip! His influence on a football pitch has helped me personally and this football club reach where it is now.
I can’t thank him enough really and I know he has got a great future ahead of him at Bournemouth and beyond. All the best skip and thank you"
"Massive congratulations on such a successful career skip! It’s been an absolute pleasure to play with you in that midfield and I couldn’t think of anyone better to lead us to back to back league titles. Thank you for being you, on and off the pitch! A great friend and leader. Legend!"
"It’s been a privilege to have Stocky as our captain and to play alongside him. He’s been an inspiration on the pitch with his quality and leadership and has been a legend off it.
He made me extremely welcome upon joining Havant and has always made an effort to offer advice and help on improving my game, so thank you for everything Skip! You will be missed but I wish you all the best in your new role and for the future!"
"Can't thank you enough mate for what you have done for me, not a player in our team that isn't better because of your influence."
"I am not sure that I will ever call anyone ‘skip’ again without thinking of you. You epitomize what a captain stands for; you are an example to others and you act in an infectious manner. On and off the pitch you have been a huge part of the clubs success in recent years.
Many people will underestimate what you have done in the game. You are a credit to yourself, your family and your friends, all of whom know that your next chapter will be as successful as your first. Thanks for everything ’Skip’"
Lee Molyneaux, Player-First Team Coach
