The Hawks trained at Preston North End's training ground last night ahead of today's game at Holker Street.

 

WE'RE ON OUR WAY!

The Hawks have departed from the team hotel in Preston to travel over to Holker Street to face Barrow! The lads are right up for it!

1' Straight ball forward by the Hawks couldn't quite find Pavey, Hawks start brightly.

7' The corner was deep from Brian Stock and Nicke Kabamba couldn't head it back across the goal so it ends up out for a Barrow goalkick

12' Hawks making a bright start to life in The National League. It's been an even game in possesion but the Hawks have had the only halfchance of note.

14' Andreas Robinson has a shot following neat Hawks play, he opted to curl his effort but it was straight down the throat of Barrow keeper Andrew Firth

16' The Hawks are starting to play.... Wes Fogden passes the ball out to Rory Williams who attempts a cross to Nicke Kabamba yet Firth caches again... promising signs

17' Brian Stock's free-kick found Paul Robinson who's flick to the far post was just whiskers away from Ed Harris at the far post

19' Jordan Rose and Paul Robinson have shut down a lot of Barrow attacks in the early stages here, strong committed tackling from the Hawks defenders.

22' First chance for Barrow, Tyler Smith's pace gets him onto a loose ball yet he scuffs his shot past Ryan Young's far post...... dangerous times

24' Another chance for the hosts and for Smith as a throw in deflects off Rhys Turner to Smith's feet yet his shot is blocked by Paul Robinson.

27' Its all kicked off here at Holker Street, Brian Stock fouled Josh Kay but afters lead to Stock ended up on the floor..... both given yellow cards

31' Rory Williams appeared to be in two minds as he charged forward, ends up cutting across his shot and firing it wide

34' Barrow free kick in a dangerous position

35' Free kick in and a great take by Ryan Young in the Hawks goal

38' Ryan Young comes out like a train to save the Hawks..... The ball bounced through and Smith would've been in on goal yet Young was having none of it

Jack Hindle gives the hosts the lead as the ball is played into his path 25 yards from before curling a superb effort past Ryan Young in the Hawks goal. 

44' Hawks finishing the half strong and have earned themselves a corner

45' Paul Robinson goes close with a header following the corner yet Firth keeps it out

49' Turner whips is a dangerous cross for the hosts that eludes every player bar Williams who clears

55' seemed a defensive lapse by the Hawks as the ball bounces to the feet of Tyler Smith who taps home into an empty net

57' Wes Fogden has a massive chance for the Hawks as he volleys from the penalty spot but Firth saves brilliantly..... then Kay charges forward for the host and Turner's header is saved superbly down to his right to keep it at 2-0 Barrow.

62' Alfie Pavey whips a vicious ball across the box and it seemed Kabamba got a slight touch before the ball strikes the post.... so unlucky

64' Stoppage here as Kay goes down as the Hawks look to regroup with Shaun Gale on the bench

81' Wes Fogden charges forward for the Hawks and plays Alfie Rutherford who's cross falls to Nicke Kabamba who goes down in the box yet no penalty given.... a few Barrow faithful in the box thought it was

87' Raul Corriea gets in behind the Hawks defence and cuts back onto his right boot yet his shot is dragged wide

93' Waterston booked for Barrow and the resulting free-kick leads to ping-pong in the hosts box, the ball falls to Rose but his shot is blocked.... not our day infront of goal
