Havant & Waterlooville return to action as they travel to Marsh Lane to face Oxford City on Saturday August 31st.

The Hawks remain the only unbeaten side in the league following the 0-0 draw against Eastbourne Borough which moved the team into a strong 3rd spot in the table, five points off Wealdstone on top.

The traveling squad will be keen to take all three points this time out after already recording four draws this campaign along with three wins.

The Hoops will be looking to achieve what no one else has managed so far this season in taking all the points off The Hawks. A win for the hosts would be vital as they could see themselves climb from their current 16th position in the table up to 10th as long as other results go their way as well.

Oxford City will be full of confidence going into the game on the weekend after an impressive 2-1 win against Bath City away from home, giving them their second win of the season.

There is no doubt they will be motivated to build on their previous result and put on a stellar performance in front of what will sure be a noisy Marsh Lane.

It was another good week for Hawks fans as news that fan favourite Wes Fogden has decided to commit his future to the club, extending the time he has already spent at Westleigh Park.

Fogden put pen to paper in midweek as he pinned down a deal which keeps him at the club until the end of the 2020/21 season.

“I want to be playing here for as long as possible” started Fogden after signing the new deal. “For the gaffer to give me next year is great.

He then began to mention the benefits of daytime training for himself and the team: “I think it gives everyone the edge, to be the squad a few times a week and training in the morning feeling fresh rather than after a day’s work and being tired. Everyone’s on it and enjoying themselves.

“First and foremost we wont to get back into the National League and we hope that we can do that but it’s not going to be easy, we’ve said before it’s probably the toughest conference south there has been with a lot of teams going to be pushing along with us so we have got to take each game as it comes.”
