Godfrey Poku signed a two-year deal with Havant & Waterlooville in early August 2020 from Woking, where he made a total of 26 appearances last season.

The midfielder is no stranger to Westleigh Park as back in 2015, he spent a short time on loan at the club, playing a total of five times and scoring an impressive four goals.

Poku who is originally from Newham, London began his career at St Albans City but the most successful period in his career was at Oxford City where he played 79 times scoring six goals.

The 30-year-old has experience in the professional game which came in League Two with Mansfield Town, Poku spent two years at the club which included two loan spells before permanently departing for AFC Telford United in 2014.

Poku enjoyed an impressive season with National League side Woking in 2019/20 as he helped them to a 10th place finish.

It was a memorable day for Poku, when he pulled on The Hawks shirt for the first time, as he was named in the starting line-up on the day which he was announced.

There is no doubt that he made the most of his one-month loan spell as he scored a hattrick in the sides 3-1 win over Oxford City.

Later on in his spell at the club, Poku popped up again with another crucial goal scoring performance as he scored the equaliser in a 3-1 victory against Maidenhead United.

He then returned to Woking, having left a great impression on everyone at Westleigh Park.

Poku is sure to boost The Hawks’ talent for the future seasons he is at the club as he will be helping the side in their bid to climb up the leagues.
