Havant & Waterlooville continue their National League South campaign on Wednesday night as they welcome Slough Town to Westleigh Park.

The Hawks enjoyed a successful weekend against Chippenham Town as they walked away with a narrow 2-1 victory.

It was a vital three points for Paul Doswell’s men as it carries them up to third in the league.

This fixture against The Rebels was supposed to be played in November but it was abandoned in the second half due to poor conditions despite The Hawks having a commanding 2-0 lead.

It is a massive game for The Hawks as a win would take them above their opposition, into a strong second position as they continue the hunt for top spot.

The Rebels have enjoyed an incredible season up to this point as they find themselves four points off the top of the league and undefeated in their last five games.

The side from Arbour Park have seen a huge boost in performances from last campaign where they finished in a stable 11th place.

After getting off to such a positive start to the season there is no doubt The Rebels will be up for the match as they will also be on the look for a possible promotion into the National League.

Doswell mentioned that it is an important match for The Hawks but knows his squad have the talent to put on a very strong performance.

“It’s got to be considered as just another league game, but obviously from our point of view we want to get something out of it otherwise we’ll feel aggrieved if you didn’t after what happened in the first game.

“Realistically it’s just another game and the angst from the first game is gone from me anyway, it’s gone, and I don’t want to see any silliness from it either.

“It’s not season defining, we’ve said that before, but obviously all these teams will want to get closer to Wealdstone and stop them from getting too much further away from us.”
