Havant & Waterlooville welcome Slough Town to Westleigh Park on Wednesday as they continue their promotion push.

The Hawks will be eager to bounce back from a disappointing result last time out in order to climb up the table and strengthen their bid for promotion into the National League.

Paul Doswell’s side currently sit 5thin the National League South table but three points against The Rebels would see them fly up to third spot and move above tomorrows opponents.

The Hawks were dealt a blow in their last league game as they lost to bottom half St Albans City at Westleigh Park.

The hosts started the game well and saw themselves take a 1-0 lead into the break, but it was a second 45 minutes to forget as the visitors bagged themselves two goals and all three points.

It was The Hawks’ Kenyan international who put Doswell’s side in front after 18 minutes but goals from Sam Merson and Zane Banton in the final 25 minutes was enough to clinch all the points.

Wednesday’s opponents go into the game having enjoyed a strong season so far but with only two wins in their last five league outings they will see a win at Westleigh Park an ideal way to get their charge for promotion back on track.

The side from Arbour Park were held to a draw in the last league meeting against Chelmsford City which ended 1-1.

A second half equaliser from Ryan Bird was enough to get The Rebels back level but The Clarets managed to hold on to secure the point.

When The Hawks clashed against The Rebels in the reverse fixture there was nothing to split the two sides with Jonah Ayunga cancelling out Matt Lench’s first half strike.
