Havant & Waterlooville continue their National League South season on Saturday as they welcome Slough Town to Westleigh Park.

It is a huge chance for The Hawks to fly up to second spot, which is currently occupied by this weekend’s opposition.

Paul Doswell’s side took all three points in last weeks trip on the road when they faced a resilient St. Albans City side.

The game ended 3-1 to The Hawks thanks to Danny Kedwell and a Jonah Ayunga brace, however the moment of the match was Ross Worner’s incredible double save to prevent The Saints from getting back into the game.

The Hawks have a game in hand over The Rebels so three points would be crucial in gaining an even stronger position in the league.

The team from Arbour Park have enjoyed a remarkable start to season having gained 30 points from their 16 league games played this campaign, they come into the game in rich form coming off the back of four wins in their last five.

The Rebels finished 11th in the National League South last season but its safe to say they will be looking to improve on that dramatically this time around.

Assistant manager Ian Baird, who took the reins against St. Albans in Doswell’s absence, previewed the weekends second versus third clash.

“It’s a very, very important game, we’ve come up against Slough in the past with Sutton United and much to our detriment they’ve always done well against us.

“It will be a difficult match; we have had them watched and they are on a rich vein of form so it will be a difficult game for us.”

Baird mentioned how the squad is relishing the big game feeling ahead of the clash: “It will be two good teams that’s for sure, hopefully the weather will stay as it is which is nice, with not too much rain.

“We will be well prepared for it, as I’ve said they are in a rich vein of form, they are a good side, well organised with very, very good players.

“At this stage in the season it is a tough game but it’s not a game that will determine where we all are at the end of the season. It would certainly be nice for us to get the victory.”
