Havant & Waterlooville return to Westleigh Park on Saturday as they welcome St Albans City in the National League South.

The match will be a great chance for The Hawks to climb up the table and continue their push for promotion into the top tier of non-league football.

Paul Doswell’s side currently find themselves 4th in the league with their weekend’s opposition further down the table in 20th.

The Hawks haven’t lost in their last six outings in the National League South and three points on the weekend would put the team in a good position.

Unfortunately for the hosts they lost in their midweek clash against Southampton under-23’s in the Hampshire Senior Cup by a score of 3-1, it was The Hawks’ first lost in the competition since 2016.

The Saints development side managed to put themselves in a commanding position early on thanks to two goals in the opening five minutes courtesy of Kornelius Hansen and Caleb Watts.

Ramello Mitchell was on hand net the third for the under 23, which handed the Saints a place in the semi-finals despite a consolation goal from Dean Beckwith.

Saturday’s visitors go into the game on a run of form they will be keen to turn around, St Albans have only won two games out of their last five in the league.

When The Hawks made the trip to Clarence Park earlier on in the season for the reverse fixture it was an eventful game which saw Doswell’s sides claim all the points.

A brace from Kenyan striker Jonah Ayunga as well as a Danny Kedwell penalty was enough to see off the hosts in a 3-1 win.

Ross Worner also managed to save a penalty which proved to be a vital moment in the match.

Three points for The Hawks would be enough to see them soar up the table into second position as long as other results go their way.
