Havant & Waterlooville continue their pre-season campaign on the road as they travel to the Bob Lucas Stadium to face Weymouth on Saturday.
The Hawks have put on impressive displays in their previous two games as they warm up for the long, hard season ahead. In the two games already played Paul Doswell’s men have netted eight goals and only conceded a total of two.
Horndean were the latest side to take on the re-shaped Hawks in a game which ended 5-1 to the visitors. It was Anthony Straker who got the route started that day on the 40-minute mark, as his long-range effort took a considerable deflection which helped the ball find its way into the back of the net.
Joe Iaciofano was on hand just before half time to continue his hot run since joining the side, the goal was enough to put The Hawks 2-1 up at the break. New signing Tommy Wright was on fire in the second period of play as he scored a brace, this was followed up by a Lucas Sinclair goal to make it a five-star performance away from home.
Saturday’s opponents have only played one game during their preseason run against AFC Totton, it was a tight match for The Terras, but they managed to walk away with a 1-0 victory. It was a great season for Weymouth last time out as they made the jump up from National League South to the National League after promotion via the playoffs.
Doswell will be eager to show his sides vast talent and prove that the Club are at a National League level going into the season.
