The Hawks looked sharp in the opening 10 minutes, Tom Blair kickstarted an attack which ended with James Roberts winning a corner.

Woking had the first real chance of the match, Worner was called into action and tipped a flicked header round the post.

McCarthy went up the other end of the pitch a minute later and tried his luck from 30 yards, falling just shy of the post.

The pace from the Hawks continued as the half progressed, and they were inching closer to an opener.

It was the visitors to nick the lead, Korboa steered a hopeful cross past Worner with his shoulder.

Ross Worner denied Akinola from doubling the lead at point blank range, he made his body big to see out a vicious volley.

It was an electric start for the Hawks, McCarthy fizzed a strike straight at Day in net, and seconds later a good move resulted in a simple catch for the Woking number one.

Korboa came close once again, he tested Worner but was denied at the near post with a simple save. Worner acted quickly to pull off an impressive double save to keep the score at 1-0.

Devante Stanley suffered a serious shoulder injury and was forced off.

Two opportunities for the Hawks in quick succession, both coming off the head of Jake McCarthy but they were nodded wide.

Blair got on the end of McCarthy’s lofted ball, and was charged into by the Woking ‘keeper. The referee pointed to the spot and Roberts made no mistake and slotted it home.

Woking had a chance to push the side into the lead as Boateng broke beyond the Hawks’ back line but Ross Worner spread himself and kept things level. A minute later, Grego-Cox had the same opportunity with 10 minutes to go, but he stayed cool and curled it round Worner.

Leon Baker tripped Boateng who was lurking in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot. Grego-Cox converted.

Blair tried his luck with a half volley outside of the area but it was claimed with ease. Roberts teed up a free-kick to end the game but the referee insisted on ending the match before he shot.

The Hawks are defeated in their final pre-season match.
