Havant & Waterlooville host Hemel Hemstead Town as a top of the table clash is set to unfold at Westleigh Park on Saturday.

The Hawks, who are currently perched in third spot, face off against the second placed team, and with second spot up for grabs it is almost certainly going to be a fiery encounter on the south coast.

It was a great weekend for Paul Doswell’s men last time out as they but in a determined performance to get past Hadley FC in a 3-0 FA Cup win. The squad now face fellow National League South side Dulwich Hamlet in the next round.

The Tudors have enjoyed a very strong start to the campaign and after 12 games have racked up an impressive 25 points, only five away from top spot.

It will be a very tough game for both sides as Hemel have only lost three times in the league this season and The Hawks have only lost once.

The Tudors manager Sammy Moore will no doubt be looking to build on his sides last result where they welcomed Bath City to Vauxhall Road and took all three points in a 2-1 win.

Liam Nash and Jack Midson were on hand for The Tudors who had to battle back from a losing position after conceding a spot kick in the first half.

It was an eventful week at Westleigh Park with one of the performers of the season so far Benny Read signing a new contract as well as the signing of Jake Flannigan who has been training with the squad for the past seven weeks.

Paul Doswell gave his thoughts on the events surrounding the football club in the past seven days: “Benny has been rewarded for a fantastic start to the season, he’s now got improved terms and is here for next season which is good for him and good for us.

“I also thought Anthony Straker who’s had a superb start to the season deserved an extension, I feel that he’s been a brilliant character within the group since I’ve met him in July.

“The other guy who has perhaps gone under the radar a little bit is Jake Flannigan, he’s got a great professional background having come through the ranks at Southampton and he’s played many league games as well.”
