French midfielder Bedsente Gomis reunites with Paul Doswell in Hawks colours as the side continue to push for promotion into the National League.

Gomis, who most recently played for Dover Athletic, came through the ranks at French club Lens in 2008.

The 31-year-old was keen to express his excitement about joining the club: “First and foremost I want to say that I’m very glad to be back in England and play for this gaffer especially.”

Gomis continued to explain his previous time playing under Doswell: “My time at Sutton [United] was a great experience we had that FA Cup run which was brilliant and I had a chance to play all the games as well.”

“So I enjoyed my time there with all the players and the gaffer so when he talked to me about coming back to England, my mind was made already so I’m here today and very happily.

The Frenchman gave Hawks fans an insight of what to expect from him: “I am a centre-mid, box-to-box I bring a lot of energy into the game, that’s my main game to be honest, especially winning the ball back through second balls.

“That is what I like to do, I get myself forward to try and score and get assists.”

Gomis also wanted to express how big the move was for not only himself by for his family: “I am going to bring my family over for the next season during the summer.

“Obviously because it’s easier for me with my kids going to school, I don’t want to move them again so it will be easy to bring them during the summer.

“I am a family man, it’s hard for me to live without my family to be honest but I agree with the gaffer that we are going to be together here for the summer.”

The midfielder has signed on a two-year deal and being well known by Doswell, he could be a key factor in helping The Hawks to try and get promoted into the National League.
