Havant and Waterlooville Football Club can confirm Joe Newton has joined Solihull Moors for an undisclosed fee.

Joe joined the Hawks in 2021 from Coventry U23s and quickly became the side’s number one left-back at 19. The now 21-year-old was a fan favourite at Westleigh Park, snapping up the Supporters Club Player of the Season for the 21/22 season.

Chairman Derek Pope said: “Joe expressed his desire to leave and play at a higher level – the club will not stop any players from progressing.

“He holds a vast amount of talent and potential, and I wish him all the best.”

He was almost ever-present for the 2022/23 season, registering 47 appearances in all competitions.

After an impressive two seasons at the club, Joe joins Solihull Moors who will feature in the Vanarama National League for the 2023/24 season.
