Havant & Waterlooville welcome Maidstone United to Westleigh Park on Saturday as they continue their National League South campaign.

The Hawks will be looking to continue their climb up the table after recording a hard fought 1-0 win away to Weymouth on New Years Day.

Simon Walton was the matchwinner as he recorded his first ever goal in a Hawks shirt, Ross Worner also had another incredible afternoon as he saved a penalty to keep the home side out. That is now his fourth penalty save this season.

Paul Doswell’s men find themselves in third spot going into the weekend but another three points in front of the home crowd could see them fly up to second position.

The Stones will be fully motivated for their second game of the new year and will look to extend their two-game unbeaten run.

John Still’s side are familiar opponents for The Hawks after they were also relegated from the National League last campaign.

Unfortunately for the visitors, they have failed to re capture the form that took them up to the top tier of non-league football as they currently find themselves in 10th spot.

There is no doubt The Stones will go into the game knowing they can make a huge statement which could turn their season around entirely.

The two sides collided early in the season all the way back in September, it was a thrilling encounter at the Gallagher Stadium which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Since that result the two sides have gone their separate ways and are now separated by only 10 points.

As everyone knows, there is no easy game in the National League South and Saturday is set up for another close encounter between two top sides.

If you cannot make the trip down to Westleigh Park, then you can keep up with all the action by following the commentary available from Hawks FM.
