Havant & Waterlooville will travel to Privett Park on Tuesday evening as they continue their packed pre-season schedule against Gosport Borough.

The Hawks will play what is their fourth match of their 2020/21 season preparations and will hope to return to winning ways after a defeat to Weymouth in the last outing.

Paul Doswell’s men started the annual pre-season calendar, full of confidence as they stormed to victories in the opening two games.

Unfortunately, the winning streak was short lived after a trip to National League side Weymouth, it was a game full of positives for the side however, a second half performance filled with substitutions saw the hosts walk away with a 3-1 win.

It was an electric start for The Hawks at the Bob Lucas Stadium as Josh Taylor scored with a beautiful strike in the opening minutes. The lead was not held for long though after an audacious effort from Weymouth striker Cody Cooke put the sides level.

Rotation was the key word for the second half and the home side took control of the game as goals from Calvin Brooks and Alfie Santos was enough to secure the win.

Our opponents of Tuesday have had a few more games to find their rhythm as they head into their sixth game of preseason. They have witnessed a range of performances, recording two wins, two losses and a draw over August and early September.

In the last outing against League One side Portsmouth, it was a day to forget after losing by four goals to nil.

Both sides will be going into the game with the aim of not only getting minutes under their belts but to get a winning feeling back amongst the camp, so the game is set up to test the character of the two sets of players.
