The Hawks, who sit in 2nd, take a trip to Essex to face 3rd place Chelmsford City in a battle to edge closer to leaders Ebbsfleet.

Both sides have so far gone unbeaten in the league, with the Clarets drawing two and winning four. They come off that back of a 1-0 home win against Concord Rangers on Bank Holiday Monday – Charlie Ruff’s opener in the 10th minute being the difference.

The Hawks have won five of their opening six matches, and only dropping points on the away trip to Braintree when Jason Prior was sent off on the 20th minute. On Bank Holiday Monday, Farnborough visited the Draper Tools Community Stadium. It was a gritty affair, and the deadlock was broken with ten minutes to go thanks to James Roberts’ ranged strike which was eventually turned in by McCarthy.

In terms of team news, Jason Prior returns from a three match suspension, Passley and Gobern are still recovering from knocks and Paul Rooney came off on Monday following a late challenge.

The last time the two sides met was in March at the Draper Tools Community Stadium. Alex Wall opened the scoring before a Stefan Payne penalty doubled the lead. Tom Blackwell got one back but it wasn’t enough and the Hawks held onto three points. It was six points for the Hawks over the two matches last season, a Jake McCarthy hat-trick secured the victory at the Melbourne Stadium, too.
