The Hawks face Taunton Town for the second time in just two weeks after the away fixture was rearranged to the end of January.

We come off the back of a convincing 3-0 home victory against Chelmsford City. The opening half was cagey and after few chances for both sides, the second half was all to play for. It was the Hawks to turn things up a notch though, Ruff unlocked the door in the second half in a MOTM performance after nodding home the opener. Faal quickly made it two with a well-worked goal before Matthews chipped the ‘keeper in additional time to secure all three points.

Taunton come off the back of a decent run of form but their most recent outing was a disappointing one. In a midweek clash, an impressive Farnborough run riot at the Cygnet winning 2-0. That’s just the second time the Peacocks have lost at home in more than 500 days, with the first coming from St Albans. A brace from Parsons in the second half was the difference.

In terms of team news, Joash and Danny are both still suspended for the clash, and Ben Shroll looks likely to be back from injury – with Rooney still out.

The last time we faced the Peacocks, as mentioned, was just two weeks ago. Gaffer Paul Doswell described it as one of the most disappointing performances of the season. It was all square at the break, with the hosts having the lion’s share of possession and chances. Just as the Hawks were growing into the match though, Joash Nembhard was sent for an early shower for a reckless challenge. Budd capitalised on the 10-men Hawks and scored the opener. With five minutes to go, Danny Wright was sent off for a late lunge when chasing for a loose ball. Things went from bad to worse when Smith curled home a beautiful strike to secure all three points.
