We are back to FA Cup action and this weekend’s match is the most important of them all – the Fourth (and final) Qualifying Round. The Hawks take on Weymouth, and although the visitors sit rock bottom of the National League South, it doesn’t tell the whole story. The Terras beat Winchester City in the 2QR and fellow National League South side Welling United in the 3QR to face the Hawks with the aspirations of reaching the First Round Proper. Their most recent result was a disappointing 5-1 defeat to Eastbourne Borough who successfully completed a comeback after Kyprianou scored first inside the first 10 minutes. We come off the back of an unbeaten start, and Concord visited the Draper Tools Community Stadium last weekend. A total of 15 chances were created in the first half and the Hawks were ruthless in attack. It went into the break at 0 -0 but just 15 minutes later, it was 2-0 thanks to goals from Prior and Faal.Usually in these previews, you have to turn back to six months ago for the last time we met – but not this time – it was the 27th September when the Hawks took the trip down the coast to the Bob Lucas Stadium. The Terras were on top for 70 minutes but the Hawks were clinical and late goals from Wright and Roberts meant the three points went back to Havant. As Paul Doswell often says, the 4QR is the most difficult to get past due to the quality of teams in the competition – not only that – it is the stage at which has the most on the line – a place in the First Round Proper.
