The Hawks will hope to continue their Westleigh Park form on Wednesday (19:45pm KO) when they welcome Slough Town.

Hawks last time out:

Last time out Havant made their Westleigh Park return against Tonbridge Angels.

The Angels were quick to start the afternoons account, with Tariq Hinds getting in behind the Hawks back line and slotting the ball past Worner in the 6th minute.

However, the Hawks fought back and found an equaliser through Jake McCarthy’s long shot in the 13th minute. In form Ryan Seager’s header found its target 10 minutes later, giving the Hawks the lead. Alfy Whittingham came agonisingly close to giving the Hawks their third, but his header from close range narrowly missed the open net.

The Hawks started the second half slowly again and Mohammad Dabre capitalised on this, smashing the ball into the top corner of the Hawks net 5 minutes into the new half. Both sides had chances to snatch a winner after this, but neither could muster a clinical shot, so the final score was 2-2.

Word from the touchline:

After the match Cliff de Gordon had this to say: “I’m happy it’s a point but unhappy because we’ve dropped two points.”

“From the outside looking in it’s obvious why we drew, we started slowly at the beginning of both halves and that’s when they got their goals.”

“I keep telling the guys they have to take accountability and responsibility for your actions instead of blaming X, Y and Z. They have to stand up and say it’s their fault.”

“We’ve got 9 games left, 27 points. It’s still very much in our hands. But we have to actually start winning games and not just talk about winning games.”

The Opposition:

In their last game Slough shared the points with promotion chasing Braintree Town. The Irons took the lead through Aaron Blair in 58th minute, but the Rebels were able to fight back and find an equaliser through Trae Cook-Appiah in the 73rd minute.

Slough currently sit in 10th, four points off Bath City in the promotion places. The Tudors have been the most inform team outside of the promotion places in the last 5 matches.

They have been scoring for fun with 12 in their last 5. However, their defence does not have much to shout about, conceding 9 in their last 5 and not keeping clean sheet since the start of February.

The Hawks will have to keep an eye out for 19-year-old David Ogbonna whose been on fine form, netting 3 goals in his last 4 games.

Fans should expect a free-flowing game as both sides look good in front of goal with questionable defensive records.

The Rebels Form:

Braintree Town 1-1 Slough Town

Tonbridge Angels 1-2 Slough Town

Slough Town 3-2 Dartford

Slough Town 2-2 Chippenham Town

Torquay United 3-4 Slough Town

Head-to-Head:

Last time these sides met the Rebels took all three points thanks to an extra time winner from Steven Bala, making the final score 2-1.

The sides first met in 2020 and have played each other on seven occasions. The Hawks have taken 3 wins while the Rebels have only managed one. There have also been 3 draws.
