Havant & Waterlooville welcome Taunton Town to Westleigh Park on Saturday as FA Cup action returns in the second qualifying round.

The Hawks have enjoyed a very strong start to the National League South season with only one loss after eleven games. They currently sit in 3rd spot as their promotion push continues, all eyes will be on progressing into the next round of the cup.

The Peacocks who currently find themselves sitting in 8th spot of the Evo Stik Southern Premier division, will have hopes that they can cause a huge upset and knock out a higher division side.

The visitors will be hoping they can return to winning ways after drawing their last league game away to Dorchester Town in a thrilling 2-2 encounter.

Taunton will be hoping they can find the same form which they had throughout last season when they finished second in the league. Although not being able to hit the same heights so far this campaign they will be looking to get their season back on track at Westleigh Park.

Paul Doswell spoke before Saturday’s clash in the FA Cup to preview his views on the matchup: “Taunton are a side who in recent years have been very successful. We’ve had them watched a couple of times and they are certainly good at what they do, and I think it’s going to be a decent game and I’m looking forward to it.

“They’ve already said that they fancy themselves coming down here. It’s not one of those giant killing ones by any stretch but I think they will be very close to getting promoted this year, so we could well be playing them in the Conference South next season.

It’s not too big a gap and having watched them and the players that they’ve got I think it’s going to be a really good game.”

Come down to Westleigh Park to support the team as they try to progress to the next round of the biggest domestic cup competition in world football.
