Havant & Waterlooville return to National League South action on Saturday as they welcome Bath City to Westleigh Park.

The Hawks now sit in 4th place in the league due to bizarre circumstances last weekend against Slough Town.

The Hawks managed to get themselves in a comfortable winning position thanks to a Jonah Ayunga brace without any reply from the visiting side.

Unfortunately, due to the heavy rainfall, not only in the build up but, during the match itself the referee deemed that the match should be abandoned and replayed at a later date.

The Hawks are currently level on points with Bath City who are level on points in 6th place but with two games in hand over the weekend’s opponents, Paul Doswell will hope his side can fly up the table into a possible second position.

The Romans have nonetheless enjoyed a positive start to the season as they look to improve on last seasons 5th place finish.

Jerry Gill will also be looking to climb up the table as well as continue their ret hot league form. His side have won their last four games in the league putting the squad in a very positive position.

The Romans earned a convincing win in their last outing when mid-table Concord Rangers visited Twerton Park. Goals from Adam Mann, Noah Chilvers and Tom Smith was enough to give them the three points.

Doswell knows the capabilities of Saturday’s opponents but relishes yet another challenge: “The way they play and the young lads that they’ve got in their side makes them decent.

“I think they’ve won their last four games as well so they’re top of the form league, so again it’s very similar to Slough, we play a team that is very much in form.”

The Hawks boss said that any team coming to Westleigh Park this season will know they are in for a tough game.

“We are at home, let’s be honest teams will look at us and think they’re in for their toughest game of the season, so I don’t want to over play it but we’re at home, our form ourselves is very, very good.

I thought we absolutely deserved to win the game last Saturday against Slough and we’re in a good place as well, so I think it will be more about Bath coming here, respecting us and know who we are.”
