Havant and Waterlooville are happy to announce the signing of Joe Newton ahead of the 2021/22 National League South season.
The 19 year old joins the Hawks from the Professional Development League Club Coventry City U23 where he has spent the last year.
Joe started his career in the youth set up at St Albans City, before moving to Coley Heath and then linking up with Royston Town where he enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season in 2019. In January of 2019, Newton’s performances were recognised by England Colleges, as he represented the U18’s starting against Australia.
Upon arrival Newton said; “It’s great to be here. I’m really excited and can’t wait to get going in front of the fans!”
Paul Doswell commented; “I’m very excited about him, only 19 years of age – I’ve watched him a couple of years back at Royston Town, when we heard that he might be available, we moved very quickly to sign him.”
