Havant & Waterlooville Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Charlie Ruff on a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old has joined the Hawks from fellow National League South side Chelmsford City.

He has been arguably the standout star for the Clarets this season, so it is quite the coup for Paul Doswell. The centre attacking midfielder has won the Vanarama National League South Player of the Month award for October and has already featured in four Vanarama Team of the Weeks this season.

He is no stranger in front of goal – he has scored five this season in the National League South and was involved in 26 last year for Hornchurch FC – including a strike at Wembley which helped the Isthmian Premier side win the FA Trophy.

Paul Doswell likened Charlie Ruff to Tommy Wright who is going to be out for a couple of months with an injury, and feels the number 10 will be influential to the side.
