The Hawks return to league action as they face a good Tonbridge Angels side this weekend.A rarity for the Hawks in recent weeks as we had no midweek match, so it will be about bouncing back from Saturday’s defeat. The Wings took a 2-0 lead with a Azeez double before we clawed two back thanks to Danny Wright and an own goal. It was former Hawk Stefan Payne so put the nail in the coffin, though, and Welling progressed in the FA Trophy.Tonbridge Angels sit in 11th place and have had a decent start to their season. They did have a midweek clash, a trip to the South Coast to face Worthing. The Mackerel Men took just 3 minutes to take the lead through Beresford. New Angel Aransibia levelled the scores, but a Kealy penalty and Josh third meant there was no way back for Tonbridge, despite Greenidge’s late consolation. In terms of team news for this weekend, Billy Clifford is suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards – meaning new man Charlie Ruff could come into the firing line for his debut. Josh Passley could return to action after missing the Hawks’ last two with a hamstring issue. The last time we met Tonbridge Angels was a sticky patch for the Hawks, Joe Oastler fired the Hawks in the lead just after the restart, but it was a 92nd minute equaliser from Coombes which meant the points were shared. The previous time we visited the Londmead Stadium, it was a 1-0 victory early last season.A player to watch for the Angels is former Claret Devonte Aransibia, he was a standout player for Chelmsford so he will be looking to return to form during his time at Tonbridge.
