Havant and Waterlooville Football Club are delighted to welcome the signing of Joe McNerney, following his departure from Woking Football Club.

The experienced central defender, who has made over 300 appearances for the National League side, has signed a two year deal at the club.

McNerney, known for his commanding presence at the back, brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality to the club. With his exceptional aerial ability, strong tackling, and leadership qualities, he joins up with Joe Oastler, Josh Passley and Kai Innocent to bolster the Hawks’ defence.

Having spent a significant portion of his career at Woking, McNerney has earned a stellar reputation as a reliable and consistent performer. His commitment, professionalism, and unwavering determination made him a fan favourite at Kingfield Stadium.

On joining the Hawks, Joe said: “I am hoping my experience will stand me in good stead. As a defender, I think the experience helps more so than other positions. I’m obviously a bit older now but I am hoping that I can use it to my advantage.

“It’s a lovely club and a nice part of the world. It was a good offer, and to get a two-year deal at my age means I can be somewhere I am comfortable.”
