League sponsors Vanarama hope you will get involved as MANarama makes a very big return!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…

Five games, three wins, one day to forget, upstaging the run-away leaders away from home and bucket loads of goals. There’s been worse months, Hawks fans!

The high point?

Need you ask? The 4-1 thrashing of Wealdstone on their own patch was a statement result. Paul Doswell’s fist-pumping at full-time painted a clear picture.

What about the others in September?

Of course the Stones are still five points clear but in fact the team of the month were actually Slough Town who enjoyed four straight Vanarama National League South wins in a row. Weymouth, Dorking and Braintree all took ten points from their four matches and the winless sides were Dulwich, Oxford City and Eastbourne.

Stat attack:

Havant’s five games last month witnessed 20 goals. That’s an average of four a game!

From the dug-out:

Paul Doswell thinks his players can still improve, even after putting four past the leaders. The manager also thinks fans are beginning to see the real Havant after injured stars started returning to duty.

Attendance check:

The Hawks are now the third best supported team in the division behind Maidstone United and Dulwich. Havant are averaging 1,402 this season.

How do things compare to last September?

Favourably! The club lost four times, and won once – there were seven games, mind you. Oh, and the single win did come against Aldershot!

Who are the red hot strikers?

Jonah Ayunga still leads the way with nine but the scoring charts are tight. Second is Wealdstone striker Ross Lafayette with eight while Liam Nash of Hemel Hempstead, Billericay goal king Jake Robinson, Jason Prior of Dorking and St Albans’ Joe Iaciofano all have seven each.

What does October look like?

Once – hopefully for Havant – an FA Cup banana skin is swerved, it gets interesting! Hemel Hempstead visit, and they are second. Then it’s an always difficult game at Dulwich who love to raise things against the team at the top. At the end of October, Concord Rangers pay visit – so who remembers the last time they came to town?!
