The Hawks take a trip to the league leaders – a top of the table clash against Ebbsfleet United.

Last time out, it really was a grim evening for the Hawks on Tuesday. We took the 300 mile round trip to Taunton Town and it was a stalemate at the interval after no real clear cut chances were created by either team. In the second half, the Hawks were brandished two red cards for late challenges by Joash Nembhard and Danny Wright. The Peacocks took all three points with goals from Budd and Smith.

The leaders, Ebbsfleet, didn’t have a midweek clash and come off the back of a 4-1 win against Concord Rangers. It was the Beachboys to take the lead within just five minutes, and it looked as if the upset could have been on but a comeback from the Fleet with a brace from Bingham and Poleon meant Kutrieb’s side took all three points. That win means they have won five out of their last five matches so momentum will be behind the side.

It’ll be a tough afternoon for both sides, as third place take on first. The suspensions won’t kick in for the weekend however, so Nembhard and Wright will be available. Josh Passley has completed his two match ban so will also be available for the clash. Paul Rooney sustained an injury on Tuesday and may miss the clash.

Eyes will also be on ex-Hawk Billy Clifford who departed the club last month and made the switch to Kent – will he feature against his former side?

The last time we met the Fleet, it was a late winner for the visitors as Bingham fired them ahead with just a few minutes to go. It was a cagey clash and when it looked set to be a 0-0 draw, Ebbsfleet continued their run and took all three points back to Kent.
