We are looking for an experienced Bar Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of the local business unit.

The Bar Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Analysis of weekly financial reports
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth
  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
  • Set policies and processes
  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
  • Training and supervising bar staff in order to ensure that they are knowledgeable about all aspects of the bar and deliver exceptional customer service to customers
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Approve and manage employee annual leave entitlement
  • Manage and evaluate stock reports and shrinkage
  • Manage salaries to budget
  • Generate and manage weekly staffing rota
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Direct the employee assessment process
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management
  • Work collaboratively alongside the General Manager of the Club and Sales and Events Manager
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
  • Forecasting and budgeting for next year/month etc.
  • Negotiating on new/existing suppliers to stay competitive in a growth market.
  • Taking Legal responsibility for licencing/premise legislation
  • Maximising sales & profitability through promotion and purchasing.
