The Hawks take their second road trip of the week, and this time it’s to Hemel Hempstead.

It became an ugly outing on Tuesday night as the Hawks were defeated in Somerset and finished with 9-men. It was a bright start for Dos’ men but Mo Faal was sent for an early bath after two bookings. The sides went in 0-0 at half-time but it didn’t stay that way for long. Wilson tapped home a controversial goal when a rebounded strike fell to what seemed to be Cox in an offside position – Sharman-Lowe saved his attempt – and Wilson finished it off. Around 15 minutes later, Smith whipped in a cross to Cox who doubled the Romans’ lead and wrapped up three points.

So, attention turns from the 12th placed Romans to the 13th placed Tudors. Hemel Hempstead come off the back of a 1-1 home draw against Chippenham Town. Craig Fasanmade scored against his old side as he nodded home a deep cross to put the Bluebirds 1-0 up. It was heartbreak for Chippenham though, as Holness’ flicked header nicked a point in injury time for the hosts.

HAWKS FORM: LWWLL

HEMEL FORM: DLWDW

In terms of team news, Danny Wright and Joash Nembhard return from suspension meaning for this one match, only Ross Worner is out with an injury in the senior squad. Mo Faal’s one match ban, and Ruff’s three-match ban will kick in from Tuesday’s trip to Dover.

The last time we faced the Tudors was back in November at Westleigh Park. Jake McCarthy put us in the leader with a flicked header which steered the corner towards the back post. Mo Faal doubled the lead in the second half when McCarthy steered a corner goalwards and Faal headed it over the line to ensure all three points.
