The Board have had much to consider over the past couple months, we’ve seen the National League North and South suspended for a two-week period, and the 2020/2021 season subsequently declared ‘null and void’.

At present there are discussions taking place between some clubs in the North and South divisions regarding a new competition, which would require approval from the clubs, the Alliance Committee and the FA Council. Having considered this option at great length, we have decided not to put ourselves forward to participate.

It’s our belief that any new competition would take time to be agreed upon and arranged and this coupled with the fact that players are currently furloughed and out of training would make it difficult for the club to field a competitive side. There would also be the added costs of travelling to play Northern clubs at a time when the club has seen a considerable reduction in revenue.

The Boards decision is to look forward and plan ahead for the 2021/2022 season. Many exciting discussions have already taken place, with a particular emphasis on a great line-up of pre-season matches and welcoming supporters back to the ground. Fans can expect to see new faces and exciting new additions to the squad over the coming months and a hive of summer activities taking place at the Draper Tools Community Stadium.
